The Garden Of Words

The Poetry Class of 2014 presents The Garden of Words as our final work. It also becomes the farewell gift to our graceful lecture Ms. Grace. The Garden of Words is a book consists of the collected poems of all students in the poetry class of 2014 that mostly are the 2011 English department students of Universitas Indonesia. In one semester, we have made many kinds of poetry. In the end of semester, we collected our best poem and joined them into one book (poetry anthology). I think all of the students have created a satisfying work. I also thanks to those who have spared their time to collect, edit, and publish the book. For me as one of the publishers, I know how hard these people work behind the scene, so I really appreciate the book. We also thank to our lecturer Ms. Grace for her help in making the poetry in one semester. 

The reason I post about our book is because I really want to appreciate those who have a hard time making the book. This is maybe nothing for some people, but for me it is one of my achievements in creating poetry (actually I love to make a poem). So, this is how our poetry book looks like.

The left picture is the cover, while the right one is the content of the book. There are names of all the students who submit their best poetry. There are at least 32 students who have chosen three to four of
their best work, including me.

Just like the title, we choose garden as the theme of the book. That`s why we can see fruits, flowers, bee, butterfly, and other things that we can find in the garden throughout the book.

We also put Ms. Grace preface in the beginning of the book. The preface, as you can see, is totally different with other books. Ms. Grace uses a poem that she made to show her feeling toward our creative writing class. It is very beautiful poem, thanks a lot for the poem and for your dedication teaching us about poetry Ms. Grace ! :)

 Unfortunately, I cannot post the whole entire book because it has at least 30 to 40 pages, and the size of the file is about 15 MB. I just post some of my poetry.

 

During the semester, me and all students in the poetry class of 2014 have made many types of poetry. We also learn many things about poetry.
From all of my poetry that I have made, I choose these four poetry as my best work. Although I know I am not good at making poetry in English, but I do my best to finish all the poetry.
All the poetry in this book including my poetry are collected and edited by my friend, Arina. She edited out the grammar error in all poetry.
By the way, every student has their own background theme in their section. For me, I asked Lintang personally to use Dandelion behind my poetry. It simply because I like Dandelion.
Besides our own poetry, we also put the poetry that we made as a group in several last pages. As conclusion, this is how the cute back cover of the book looks like.
